These are the
Member Terms of Use, which apply to individual members using the MyAlMasjid app.
If you are a masjid administrator or committee representative onboarding a masjid, please also read the
separate
Masjid Terms of Use, which govern masjid accounts and administrator responsibilities.
— a community app built to connect masjids and their members. By downloading or using the app, or visiting www.myalmasjid.com, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree with any part of these terms, please don't use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using MyAlMasjid, you confirm that you've read and agree to these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. These pages together cover everything you need to know about using the app responsibly.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the app.
- You'll need a valid mobile number to sign in via OTP.
- Please make sure the information you provide when registering is accurate.
3. Use of the App
You agree to use the App only for its intended, lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the App for any unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, or defamatory purpose;
- Post, share, promote, or glorify content that constitutes terrorism, violent extremism, radicalisation, or incitement to violence — including glorifying terrorist organisations, attacks, or ideology;
- Post or distribute hate speech — content that demeans, threatens, or incites violence against any individual or group based on religion, ethnicity, nationality, caste, gender, disability, or any other characteristic;
- Recruit, radicalise, or attempt to recruit others for any terrorist, extremist, or unlawful organisation or movement;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other user accounts, or the App's backend infrastructure;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App;
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any code designed to damage or disrupt the App's functionality;
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the App without prior written consent;
- Impersonate any person, masjid, or religious authority within the App;
- Use automated bots, crawlers, or scripts to interact with the App.
Zero Tolerance: Any content or activity involving terrorism, violent extremism, hate speech, or radicalisation will result in immediate account suspension, permanent removal, and — where required by law — disclosure to the relevant law-enforcement authorities. MyAlMasjid fully cooperates with lawful requests from CERT-In, police, and courts under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
Violation of these provisions may result in immediate account suspension and, where applicable, legal action.
4. User Content
Any content you upload — your profile photo, name, or announcements as an admin — remains yours. By uploading it, you give MyAlMasjid permission to display it within your masjid community on the app. We don't sell your content to anyone.
When you share content, you confirm that:
- You own or have the right to share the content;
- The content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights;
- The content is not unlawful, offensive, or contrary to Islamic values.
MyAlMasjid may remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice.
5. User Roles & Masjid Accounts
The App supports multiple user roles — Member, Imam, Muezzin, Committee Member, and
Admin. Roles are assigned by the registered masjid administrator.
Masjid Registration
Organisations wishing to register a masjid on MyAlMasjid confirm that they are authorised representatives of that masjid. MyAlMasjid is not responsible for unauthorised masjid registrations and reserves the right to verify and remove listings at our discretion.
Masjid accounts are governed by the separate Masjid Terms of Use, in addition to these Member Terms.
Admin users are responsible for ensuring that all members and content within their masjid community
comply with these Terms. Admins who knowingly allow misuse may have their accounts suspended.
6. Live Audio — Azan & Live Khutbah
The Imam/Muezzin role enables live audio broadcasting within a masjid community, covering the Azan,
Iqamah, and — with the Live Khutbah feature — the Friday sermon and other religious
addresses. By using either broadcast feature, you agree to:
- Only broadcast content that is genuinely masjid-related — Azan, Iqamah, Khutbah, and approved religious announcements;
- Ensure Khutbah content is grounded in authentic Islamic scholarship and does not contradict established Islamic consensus;
- Not broadcast content that is abusive, misleading, offensive, or contrary to Islamic values;
- Not use the feature to impersonate religious authorities or convey false religious rulings;
- Not use a live session for fundraising, commercial promotions, or political messaging without explicit approval from your masjid's Admin;
- Obtain the consent of your masjid's Admin before using the broadcast feature.
MyAlMasjid does not record or store live audio. Misuse of the live audio or Live Khutbah feature may
result in immediate role revocation and account suspension.
7. Notifications
Prayer-time and announcement notifications are delivered to members of your registered masjid.
You can disable notifications at any time through the App's Settings or your device's
notification settings. We do not charge for notifications.
8. Advertisements
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. MyAlMasjid is not responsible for the
content, accuracy, or legality of third-party advertisements. The presence of an advertisement does
not constitute an endorsement by MyAlMasjid.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, Website, and all associated software, design, graphics, icons, text, brand assets
(including the "MyAlMasjid" name and logo), and proprietary algorithms are the exclusive intellectual
property of MyAlMasjid and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You are not permitted to:

10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee:
- That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times;
- That prayer times are 100% accurate for every location or calculation method — always verify with your local masjid;
- That any information provided by masjid administrators is accurate or complete.
Please refer to our Disclaimer for full details including
limitations on prayer time accuracy and the Qibla direction feature.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyAlMasjid shall not be liable for any

- Actions of third-party service providers (Firebase, LiveKit, Google AdMob).
12. Account Suspension & Termination
MyAlMasjid reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:
- Violate any provision of these Terms;
- Engage in fraud, abuse, or illegal activity;
- Post, share, or promote terrorism, violent extremism, radicalisation, or hate speech (immediate suspension with no warning);
- Misuse the live audio broadcast feature;
- Impersonate a religious authority or masjid.
Law-Enforcement Cooperation. Where content or activity on the platform involves terrorism,
extremism, violence, child safety, or any other matter that MyAlMasjid is legally required to report,
MyAlMasjid will — without prior notice — disclose relevant account information and content to
CERT-In, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the local police, or any other competent authority
as required under the Information Technology Act 2000, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967
(UAPA), or any applicable court order or government direction. You consent to such disclosure by using
the App.
You may delete your own account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. All your personal
data will be permanently erased within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes arising from them or your use of the App shall be governed by and
construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to
conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be
attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes
shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
This App is governed by Indian law. If you access the App from outside India, you do so at your
own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
14. Ask Imam Feature
The Ask Imam feature allows you to submit questions to the Imam of your registered masjid
directly through the app. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Community guidance only. Responses from the Imam are personal religious guidance
from a local community scholar. They are not formal legal opinions (fatwas), and MyAlMasjid
does not vet, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any Imam's response.
- Not a substitute for professional advice. Do not use this feature for medical, legal,
financial, or psychological advice. For sensitive personal matters, please speak privately with
the Imam outside the app.
- No guaranteed response. An Imam is not obligated to respond to every question.
Response times are not guaranteed.
- Visibility. Depending on the masjid's settings, your question and the Imam's response
may be visible to other members of your masjid community. Do not submit information you wish to
keep private.
- Appropriate use. Only submit genuine Islamic questions relevant to your masjid
community. Do not submit spam, offensive, or inappropriate content.
MyAlMasjid is not a religious authority and is not liable for the content of any response provided
through the Ask Imam feature. Misuse of this feature (e.g. submitting abusive content) may result
in account suspension.
15. Imam Hadiah — Gift to Imam (India Only)
The Imam Hadiah feature is not yet live. It is planned for a future release. The terms below will
apply from the moment this feature is activated in the app.
The Imam Hadiah feature allows members to send a voluntary monetary gift (hadiah) to their
masjid's Imam as a gesture of appreciation, facilitated through the app. This feature will be
available only in India. When activated, you agree to:
- Voluntary gift only. The Imam Hadiah is entirely voluntary and must never be treated
as a fee, service charge, or payment for religious services. No Imam is entitled to demand or
solicit a gift through this feature.
- Payment via Razorpay. Gifts are processed through Razorpay, a third-party payment
gateway. By initiating a payment you accept Razorpay's
Terms of Service and
Privacy Policy.
A disclaimer screen will appear in-app before any payment is initiated.
- MyAlMasjid is a technology facilitator only. MyAlMasjid does not hold, manage,
or disburse gift funds. Funds are transferred directly to the Imam's registered Razorpay account.
MyAlMasjid is not a payment aggregator, financial intermediary, or NBFC.
- Imam registration required. The feature is only available where the Imam has
completed Razorpay KYC/onboarding. Imams are solely responsible for their Razorpay compliance
and applicable tax declarations.
- No refunds. Hadiah gifts are voluntary and generally non-refundable once confirmed.
Contact contact@myalmasjid.com for genuine payment
errors (e.g. duplicate charges).
16. Sadqa / Donations Feature (India Only)
The Sadqa feature (including the "1 Rupee Sadqa" option) enables voluntary
micro-donations to your local masjid through the app. This feature is available
only to users located in India. By using this feature, you agree to the following:
- Voluntary donation. All sadqa contributions are entirely voluntary. By confirming
a donation, you acknowledge that it is a willing charitable contribution and not a purchase of
goods or services.
- Payment processor terms apply. Payments are processed by a third-party payment
gateway (e.g., Razorpay or equivalent). Their terms of service and privacy policy govern the
payment transaction itself.
- MyAlMasjid is a technology facilitator only. MyAlMasjid does not hold, manage,
or disburse donated funds. Donations are transferred directly to the registered bank account of
the receiving masjid. MyAlMasjid is not a charitable organisation, trust, or NBFC.
- No tax receipts. MyAlMasjid does not issue 80G tax exemption certificates or
any other tax receipt. If you require a receipt, contact your masjid directly.
- No refunds. Voluntary charitable donations are generally non-refundable. Payment
gateway refund policies apply in cases of technical errors (e.g., duplicate charges). Contact
contact@myalmasjid.com for genuine payment errors.
- Fund usage. MyAlMasjid is not responsible for how a masjid uses donated funds.
You are donating to and trusting your local masjid. We encourage masjids to maintain transparency
with their communities about fund utilisation.
- India residents only. The Sadqa feature complies with Indian financial regulations.
Users outside India must not attempt to use this feature.
This feature is currently in development. The above terms apply from the moment the Sadqa feature
is made available in the app. We will notify you via an in-app notification when it launches.
