These Masjid Terms are separate from the
Member Terms of Use, which govern individual member accounts. Both documents apply to this platform. If you are a member (not an administrator), please refer to the
Member Terms of Use.
1. Who This Applies To
These Masjid Terms of Use ("Masjid Terms") apply to any masjid, Islamic centre, prayer hall,
or religious organisation ("Masjid") that is registered on the MyAlMasjid platform, and to
the person(s) who administer that account ("Masjid Administrator" or "Admin").
By having your masjid onboarded to MyAlMasjid — whether through our in-app onboarding wizard or with
the assistance of the MyAlMasjid team — the Masjid and its Administrator(s) agree to be bound by
these Masjid Terms, in addition to our general Terms of Use,
Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
Acceptance is recorded at onboarding time when an authorised representative of the Masjid — or the
MyAlMasjid representative acting on their verbal/written instruction — confirms agreement in the
in-app onboarding flow. A timestamped consent record (including the name of the authorising committee
member, the date, and the terms version) is stored in our system as the formal record of acceptance.
Continued use of the MyAlMasjid platform by any Masjid Administrator or staff member constitutes
ongoing acceptance of these Masjid Terms, as updated from time to time.
3. Authority to Register a Masjid
By registering a masjid on MyAlMasjid (or authorising someone to do so on your behalf), you confirm that:
- You are an authorised representative of the masjid — such as a committee member,
mutawalli, secretary, or imam;
- You have the approval of the managing committee (or equivalent governing body) to
register the masjid on a digital platform;
- The masjid name, address, contact details, and other information provided are accurate and
truthful;
- You will promptly update the information if it changes.
MyAlMasjid reserves the right to verify registrations and to remove or deactivate any masjid account
that is registered without proper authority, contains false information, or is otherwise in breach of
these terms.
4. Masjid Administrator Obligations
As a Masjid Administrator, you agree to:
- Assign roles carefully. Only assign the Imam, Muezzin, and Admin roles to individuals
who genuinely hold those positions at your masjid and who have agreed to the platform's
Terms of Use.
- Keep credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity performed under your
masjid account. Do not share admin credentials with unauthorised persons.
- Post accurate prayer times. Ensure that prayer times entered into the system reflect
the actual times observed at your masjid. Incorrect times affect the worship of your community members.
- Use announcements appropriately. Only post announcements that are truthful, relevant
to your masjid community, and consistent with Islamic values and applicable law.
- Comply with applicable law. Ensure all activities conducted through the platform comply
with the laws of your country and locality, including data protection laws.
- Notify us of disputes. If there is a dispute about who holds authority over the masjid
account (e.g., due to a committee change), notify us promptly at
contact@myalmasjid.com.
5. Data Controller Responsibility
When members of your masjid join the platform and provide personal data (such as their name, phone
number, gender, and date of birth) to participate in your masjid community, the Masjid acts as
the Data Controller for that community-specific data, and MyAlMasjid acts as the Data
Processor on your behalf.
This means:
- You are responsible for ensuring that your members are informed about how their data is used within
the app. Our Privacy Policy is the primary disclosure document,
but you should make it accessible to your members.
- You must not use member data accessed through the platform for any purpose other than administering
your masjid community within the app.
- You must not export, sell, share, or otherwise transfer member personal data to third parties
without the member's explicit consent.
- When a member requests deletion of their data, MyAlMasjid handles the technical deletion. You
agree not to retain separate copies of member data extracted from the platform.
- If you become aware of any unauthorised access to member data, you must notify MyAlMasjid
immediately at privacy@myalmasjid.com.
For clarity, MyAlMasjid is the Data Controller for platform-wide data it collects
independently (e.g., crash logs, device tokens, app usage analytics) — as set out in the
Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable Use of Platform Features
You agree that the Masjid account and all associated roles (Admin, Imam, Muezzin) will be used only
for their intended, lawful purposes. You must not:
- Post, share, broadcast, or promote content that constitutes terrorism, violent extremism, radicalisation, or incitement to violence — including content that glorifies terrorist organisations, attacks, or extremist ideology;
- Post or distribute hate speech — content that demeans, threatens, or incites violence or discrimination against any individual or group on the basis of religion, ethnicity, nationality, caste, gender, or any other characteristic;
- Recruit or attempt to recruit platform users for any terrorist, extremist, or unlawful organisation or movement;
- Use the platform to spread misinformation, propaganda, or content contrary to Islamic values;
- Impersonate another masjid, religious authority, or organisation;
- Use the Live Azan feature for non-masjid purposes or to broadcast harmful content;
- Attempt to access or interfere with other masjids' data on the platform;
- Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to interact with the platform;
- Circumvent any security, access control, or rate-limiting measures we have in place.
Zero Tolerance: Masjid accounts found to be involved in terrorism, extremism, hate speech, or radicalisation will be permanently deactivated immediately with no opportunity for reinstatement. MyAlMasjid reserves the right — and is legally obligated — to report such activity to the relevant law-enforcement authorities (CERT-In, NIA, local police) under applicable Indian law, without prior notice to the Masjid or its administrators.
7. Content Accuracy & Responsibility
MyAlMasjid provides a platform — we do not independently verify the accuracy of prayer times,
announcements, event details, or other content posted by Masjid Administrators.
The Masjid and its Administrators are solely responsible for the accuracy of all
content they post. MyAlMasjid is not liable for any harm arising from inaccurate prayer times,
misleading announcements, or any other content published by a Masjid Administrator. Please refer
to our Disclaimer for the full scope of our content disclaimers.
8. Platform Availability & Changes
MyAlMasjid is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee
uninterrupted access to the platform. We may:
- Carry out maintenance that temporarily affects availability (we aim to provide advance notice);
- Modify, add, or remove platform features at any time;
- Update these Masjid Terms from time to time (see section 14 below).
9. Deactivation of Masjid Accounts
MyAlMasjid reserves the right to deactivate or permanently remove a Masjid account, at
its sole discretion, where:
- The Masjid account violates any provision of these Masjid Terms or the general
Terms of Use;
- False or misleading information was provided at onboarding or thereafter;
- The account has been inactive for an extended period with no member community using it;
- A valid dispute arises about the authority to operate the account.
When a Masjid is deactivated, all staff members (Admin, Imam, Muezzin) are automatically
disassociated from the account. Regular members must re-join if the account is reactivated.
Member personal data is retained for 30 days following deactivation before being permanently erased,
unless a reactivation request is submitted.
If you believe your masjid account has been incorrectly deactivated, contact us at
contact@myalmasjid.com.
10. Pricing & Subscription
MyAlMasjid is currently provided to masjids at no charge under the Free Plan.
A Premium Plan with additional features may be introduced in the future.
If a paid plan is introduced, we will provide existing masjids with a minimum of
60 days' written notice before any charge is applied. You will always have the option
to remain on a free tier (which may have limited features) or to remove your masjid from the platform
before any charge takes effect.
We will never charge retroactively. Features available during the free onboarding period will not
be subject to retrospective charges.
11. Intellectual Property
The MyAlMasjid app, platform, name, logo, and all associated software and design remain the exclusive
intellectual property of MyAlMasjid.
Content you post to the platform (prayer times, announcements, masjid details) remains your content.
By posting it, you grant MyAlMasjid a limited, non-exclusive licence to display it to your
masjid community members within the app. We do not sell or share your masjid content externally.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MyAlMasjid is not liable for:
- Any harm arising from inaccurate prayer times or other content posted by your Masjid account;
- Technical failures, interruptions, or data loss arising from causes outside our reasonable control;
- Actions taken by members of your masjid community based on content published through your account;
- Any committee disputes or governance issues internal to your masjid.
Our total liability to any Masjid account, for any claim arising under these Masjid Terms, shall not
exceed the amount paid by that Masjid for the platform in the 12 months preceding the claim (which,
for free-plan masjids, is zero).
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Masjid Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising under these
Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith correspondence. If unresolved within
30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
If your masjid is located outside India, local consumer or data protection laws may grant you additional
rights. Nothing in these Terms overrides mandatory rights you have under your local law.
14. Ask Imam Feature — Masjid Obligations
The Ask Imam feature allows members of your masjid community to submit questions to
the assigned Imam through the app. As the Masjid Admin, you are responsible for ensuring this
feature is used appropriately within your community.
- Enable with care. The Admin has the ability to enable or disable the Ask Imam feature
for their masjid. Only enable it if your Imam has agreed to participate and has capacity to respond.
- Imam's responsibility for responses. The Imam assigned to this role is responsible
for the content of all responses. Responses should be grounded in authentic Islamic scholarship.
The Imam must not provide medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice through this feature.
- Moderation obligation. If you become aware that inappropriate questions or responses
have been posted, you must take prompt action — deleting content or disabling the feature —
and notify MyAlMasjid if the content may be harmful.
- Data privacy. Questions and responses may be visible to members of your community.
Ensure your members are aware of this visibility as part of your community data practices.
- No guarantee of fatwa. Imam responses through this feature are community guidance
only, not binding religious rulings. Do not represent them as such to your members.
MyAlMasjid reserves the right to disable the Ask Imam feature for any masjid account found to be
misusing it, without prior notice.
15. Sadqa / Donations Feature — Masjid Obligations (India Only)
The Sadqa feature enables your masjid to receive voluntary micro-donations from
members through the app. This feature is available to masjids registered in India only.
By enabling this feature, your masjid agrees to the following:
- Provide accurate payment details. You must register a valid bank account or payment
recipient ID with the payment gateway before enabling this feature. MyAlMasjid is not responsible
for misdirected payments arising from incorrect payment details provided by the masjid.
- Use funds for their stated purpose. Funds received through the Sadqa feature must
be used for legitimate Islamic charitable or masjid operational purposes — not for personal
benefit, commercial activity, or non-disclosed causes.
- Comply with Indian financial regulations. The Masjid is solely responsible for
ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including the Income Tax Act 1961, FCRA (if applicable),
and any RBI guidelines governing receipt of donations. MyAlMasjid does not provide legal or
financial compliance advice.
- Transparency with donors. You should inform your community about how donated funds
will be used. MyAlMasjid may request evidence of fund utilisation at any time as part of platform
integrity checks.
- No misrepresentation. You must not represent sadqa collected through the app as
carrying 80G tax exemption or any other statutory benefit unless you hold the relevant government
certification and have disclosed this to MyAlMasjid.
- Withdrawal of feature. MyAlMasjid reserves the right to suspend or permanently
disable the Sadqa feature for any masjid, without prior notice, if misuse or financial
irregularities are suspected.
This feature is currently in development and has not yet been released. These terms apply from the
date the Sadqa feature becomes available in the app. An updated version of these Masjid Terms will
be published at launch.
