Ask Imam is for your masjid. You must be a member of a masjid that has an Imam on MyAlMasjid. Questions go to that Imam only.
- Private thread between member and Imam.
- Voice notes, not an open social feed.
- The Imam can close a thread when it is finished.
How a question travels
- The member opens Ask Imam and selects an Imam of their masjid.
- A voice note is encrypted on the device before upload.
- Cloud storage holds an encrypted file. Our database stores only routing metadata and public key material for on-device decrypt.
- The Imam opens their inbox, decrypts on their device, and can reply the same way.

We use X25519 key agreement and AES-256-GCM. Decryption keys are not stored in the API.
Member vs Imam
- Members start a conversation and send questions.
- Imams see an inbox for their masjid only.
- Without a masjid membership, Ask Imam is not available.
